Ghost Hunting 101:
Before We Begin

The purpose of this series of articles is to explain the basics of supernatural investigation. It is not meant to teach - only to explain. This type of investigation CAN BE DANGEROUS! Supernatural investigators, by the shear nature of the investigation can end up in old, run-down, buildings with weak floors, walls, and ceilings. Any of which can fall in on you. Even when the building is sound, the supernatural side of things can be "intense" (to use a more modern slang term). The things seen in an investigation can turn stomaches, cause nightmares, and even cause physical reactions (of a good many types). It is not for the weak of heart or mind.

In the chance that you run across a corpse, in the course of an investigation (don't laugh - there are documented cases of this happening in police files across the country), you need to be able to document what you were doing and be able to preserve the scene. This will not only assist the police, it can help keep you out of jail for something you didn't do. In any event, supernatural investigations are something to be taken VERY SERIOUSLY, and should not be attempted by somebody who simply wants to "see dead people".
