Report on social trip to Wolf Park by: Whitehorse
City: Battle Ground, IN
Date: August 26, 2006
First a little background (from the Wolf Park brochure):
"Wolf Park is a unique facility whose hand-raised socialized wolves allow visitors unparalleled opportunites to view wolf behavior up close."
As Wolf Park was a bit of a drive, we decided to make a day of it by going to a few older cities and the "Battle of Tippecanoe" memorial as well.
Our first stop was Logansport.
Logansport is an old river town. It was settled in 1826 and was named for a Shawnee Indian chief
who worked as a scout for the US during the war of 1812. Some of Logansport's houses
date back into the late 1800s-early 1900s.
Currently it houses some 19,000+ people. One of the statues that impressed me was this
one of Jesus.

It stands in front of the local catholic church. At the request of one of our members
(who is catholic) we went inside so that member could offer a prayer. We all refrained
from taking pictures while inside the church.
Back outside, we took in view of the beautiful older architecture of the town. Here are
some images of the older residential and business districts.

We made it back to the car as it started to rain, so we waited out the rainstorm in
one of the area fast food restaurants. Then it was on to
Wolf Park.
