Date: October 13-14, 2006
Location: Fulton County Round Barn Museum, Rochester, IN
As part of our desire to serve the communities in our area, we were happy to help the
Fulton County Historical Society in their first
annual "Haunted Trail" fund raising event.
This event was quite a lot of fun for both the visitors and the "haunters". For the
younger set, the museum had a straw maze and several indoor activities. For the older
kiddies, the haunted trail (held back in the woods where the trail of courage festival
is held each year) was the place to be.
In "The Trail" they had a headless horseman (actually horsewoman), a human "hell hound",
mad doctors, a werewolf, scarecrows (including a live one), ghosts, goblins, ghouls, witches,
an axe man, dead (and not so dead) bodies, and even a petting zoo (complete with live - and dead
- rats). And, several ghoulish guides to lead all the vict - I mean visitors - through the maze.
After all, it would be a shame to have anyone get LOST in there.
During the 2-day event, there were some 300+ visitors to "The Trail". All in all, I'd say
the event was "Frightfully" successful (sorry, I couldn't resist the pun).
Next year's event promises to be even bigger and better than this one. Perhaps we can
lure some of our readers down to "The Trail" next October.
There were some pictures taken (I held back as I didn't want to ruin the effect of
the event with camera flashes, but some others took pics while we were setting up).
As soon as they can become available, the Fulton County Historical Society with have
them up on their website. The URL is: www.icss.net/fchs.
Check them out and see what else they have to offer.
End of Report.
